The Eco Garden at Tara Pattana is a living classroom where students learn about nature, sustainability and responsible stewardship of the environment. Co-created and cared for by students, teachers and the wider school community, it showcases our commitment to hands-on environmental education and sustainable living. Through the Tara Gardening CCA, environmentally minded students take the lead in planting, nurturing and organising the garden spaces, ensuring the area remains thriving, purposeful and truly sustainable over time.
Student-led activities
Learners grow vegetables and local plants like Thai jasmine rice, explore plant life cycles and biodiversity, create compost from food waste and practise organic gardening methods. Alongside, they identify problems, plan concrete solutions and lead awareness campaigns. In doing so, they develop responsibility, teamwork and perseverance, while building a deep, lasting understanding of ecosystems and food sustainability.
Community involvement
Our whole school community takes responsibility for sustainability. Parents, staff, students and local partners work together to strengthen environmental initiatives through workshops, clean-up events and collaborative projects. By learning, acting and leading side by side, our community extends sustainable practices beyond the campus and into everyday life, turning shared values into meaningful environmental impact.
Eco campus
Our campus' facilities reflect our commitment to sustainability. Waste separation and recycling systems, energy‑saving measures, water‑saving practices and reduced single‑use plastics are embedded into daily school life. These visible actions show students how sustainable choices work in practice and encourage them to adopt responsible, environmentally conscious habits now and in the future.
Environmental programmes
Throughout the year, we run focused environmental programmes. Litter and waste reduction activities encourage students to audit, rethink and minimise school waste, while Environmental Action Weeks shine a spotlight on key issues through themed projects, campaigns and challenges. Our organic market connects the school community with sustainable produce and practices, showing how small, everyday choices can support healthier lifestyles and a healthier planet.
