In Early Years, each child’s development is carefully tracked using the Birth to 5 Matters framework, ensuring steady progress towards the Early Learning Goals across all areas of learning.
Parents stay closely involved through Class Dojo, an easy-to-use app similar to WhatsApp or Line, where teachers share photos, updates and messages from the day. Daily communication and open, ongoing dialogue between home and school are treated as a top priority, creating a strong partnership that supports every child’s growth.
Children recognise and name their emotions, learn to manage them and form respectful relationships with others. Through everyday play, routines and interactions, they communicate clearly, take turns, listen and solve small problems together. With a strong emphasis on curiosity, resilience and a growth mindset, children are encouraged to explore, question and discover at their own pace.
A forward-thinking approach develops key life competencies, including collaboration, communication and critical thinking. In this vibrant, nurturing environment, each child’s unique talents are valued, building the confidence, empathy and independence needed to thrive in school, in life and in an ever-changing world.
Children in Nursery and Kindergarten experience daily interactions in English alongside five Thai sessions each week, naturally building understanding in both languages through play, songs and stories.
In Reception, English is woven through the day with phonics, reading, writing and storytelling, introduced in short, engaging bursts during play-based learning. Four weekly Thai lessons further develop language, speaking and cultural awareness, helping children grow as confident, curious and respectful young multilinguals.
At Tara Pattana International School, children are empowered as curious learners through the Learning Rainforest approach. In our classrooms, they move freely between learning centres: they might design and build bridges with blocks and loose parts, mix colours at the art table to paint stories they have invented, or explore sand, water and sensory trays to test ideas like floating, sinking and volume. During inquiry time at our private school in Thailand, teachers follow children’s questions and guide small‑group investigations, from planting seeds and making observational drawings to measuring growth and recording findings. Outdoors, children tackle building challenges with crates and planks, create obstacle courses and take part in nature hunts, learning to take managed risks and persevere when something doesn’t work the first time. Role‑play areas become shops, homes or space stations, where children negotiate roles, use rich language and act out real‑life scenarios.
I love my teacher, Ms Skjeie and playing with my friends. My favourite lesson is phonics. I like singing the songs and writing the letters.

I love playing with my friends. I like the different games we can play and all the different art we get to do together. It is fun when we get to be messy and try new things.
