KS4

The Key Stage 4 Curriculum is based on the Edexcel International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE). Edexcel IGCSEs are studied in over 55 countries worldwide and in 350 independent schools in the UK. This international curriculum for 14 to 16 year olds is widely used as a preparation for AS and A Level examinations. The IGCSE formerly referred to as ‘O’ Levels, comprises frameworks in subjects which are developed to emphasise continuity and progression throughout the years, leading on naturally from the Primary Curriculum and the Lower Secondary Curriculum. The two-year course is developed in line with changing needs, and is regularly updated and extended.

The IGCSE curriculum encourages learner-centered and enquiry-based approaches to learning. Students develop skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving, giving them exceptional training for the next stage in their education. At the end of the two year course, students will have the opportunity to be entered for externally set and graded examinations, with grades awarded in the range from 9 – 1, with a grade 9 rewarding outstanding academic achievement.

Students will follow a wide and varied range of subjects. Some subjects will be compulsory (English, Mathematics, Science, and Thai for Thai nationals), with others being optional, depending on the aspirations and abilities of each individual, (such as History, Geography, Computing, Art & Design, Music, Business Studies).
