At Tara Pattana International School, Key Stage 1 consists of Years 1 and 2 with the student age range between 5-7 years.

Growing out of the Early Years and into Primary can be a big step. We want students to embrace the transition with excitement, happiness and enthusiasm. By promoting a warm, friendly and welcoming environment, students learn to greet this new endeavor with inquisitiveness and eagerness; leading to a healthy love of learning.

Our curriculum is comprehensive and wide-reaching to provide our students with the knowledge to think critically and obtain 21st Century skills.

We provide real-life experiences for students to engage in the world around them. Every term the students engage in a practical and hands-on activity, off campus. These trips revolve around our Science Unit Topics and/or Geography themes. The students gain a better appreciation for their course of study this way.

English and Literacy skills have a strong foundation in Key Stage 1. It is crucial students develop their reading and comprehension abilities at this time. We use, in accordance with the new British National Curriculum, Jolly Phonics and Nelson English schemes. These produce great results and students enjoy the lessons involved. Literacy has two weekly one-hour sessions; in addition Reading is scheduled twice weekly as well. We follow the Ginn 360 reading scheme which also has a literacy portion to back up the readings. Students enjoy the familiarity of the characters and settings as they ease into more complicated readings throughout the Key Stage.

Tara Pattana International School believes in a holistic approach to educating children. We offer Thai language and cultural classes, Physical Education, Art, Music and ICT each week. Children also have the option to enroll in after-school clubs to further their interests.
